How to enter
Your entry entitles one player and their family members to free entrance to Pembroke Castle for the duration of the event — a full day's chess inside the castle walls.
The play
A single open section of seven rounds, played at 15 minutes plus a 5-second increment per move.
Players will be rated using, in order of preference:
Where a player is unranked, a rating will be determined by the Organiser where possible and appropriate. This is not a FIDE-ranked event.

The venue
Castle Terrace, Pembroke SA71 4LA — the birthplace of Henry VII and one of the finest fortresses in Wales. Play takes place within the castle for the full day.
The small print
Touch move is in effect. A first illegal move adds one minute to your opponent's clock; a second illegal move forfeits the game. Move notation is optional, not required.
Mobile phones must be switched off and unreachable during play — non-compliance may mean expulsion from that round. Smart watches, or anything that could reach a chess engine, are not permitted.

The advertised fund assumes a full field and may be reduced for fewer than 40 players.
The Organiser's and Arbiter's decisions are final. The Organiser reserves the right to refuse entry without giving a reason.
The event may be cancelled for weather or other reasons; where this happens a partial refund will be attempted.
Breaking the rules may bring penalties up to disqualification or expulsion. No refund is given in the event of disqualification.
Juniors are welcome. Supervision of children remains the responsibility of the parent or guardian throughout the day.
Details are held electronically for tournament administration and future events, and can be updated or deleted on request. An opt-out is available for the use and publishing of photographs.
The Organiser is not responsible for personal items or for accidents at the venue.
